Originally produced as a shorter pilot episode for TV, Spider-man was edited in to the longer 90min feature at the request of Columbia Pictures executives to be distributed theatrically in international markets.
Starring Nicholas Hammond, Michael Pataki, David White, Lisa Eilbacher, Thayer David and Len Lesser.
After a freak occurence causes him to be bitten by a nuclear-radiated spider, university student Peter Parker finds he can climb up walls, has super strenght and a sixth-sense that warns him of danger.
Meanwhile, respectable New York citizens are carrying out robberies and killing themselves afterwards. A brain-washing mastermind has claimed responsibility for the robberies and is now black-mailing the city for $50 million otherwise he will command 10 more New Yorkers to kill themselves.
Only Peter Parker has the brains and the brawn to stop the criminal before he gets away with the crime of the century...
